It Began With a Yurt and a Golden Sunset ...

Cloudview Ecofarms is a certified organic, diversified vegetable farm. The farm is 5 years old, co-created by Jim Baird & family with young farmers and interns, and encompasses about 15 acres. We grow a spectrum of organic vegetables in Central WA with water from the Columbia River.

Major Cloudview crops are garlic, potatoes, carrots, and mixed vegetables. The farm is connected with the Baird family's nearby organic orchards and circle irrigated crops. Cloudview has a 50+ CSA, sells at 3 farmers markets, & provides produce to institutions, restaurants, & schools.  Our food is oriented toward markets and customers in Ellensburg, Ephrata, Moses Lake, Wenatchee, Royal City, and Quincy.

Our farming practices demonstrate small-scale organic production alongside commercial-scale crop production in the Columbia Basin.  At Cloudview, we believe that healthy, living soil is key to healthy communities.  Through this understanding we have developed a strong soil-building program employing intense cover crop rotations, careful amending of trace minerals, and microbiological inputs.  We hope to integrate pastured animals into our operations for greater nutrient cycling, and look forward to further developing our insectary program which promotes biodiversity in our farm system.  With these practices, Cloudview builds nutrient density in our vegetable crops while evolving a healthy ecosystem on the farm for future seasons.
