Fall and Spring Field Trips

REGISTER FOR SPRING 2013 AS EARLY AS FEBRUARY!

Cloudview Farm in Ephrata is now offering field trips for school groups from preschool to 3rd grade. Students will gain a new understanding of where their food comes from. During our 1 ½ hour long tour kids have a chance to seek and find the 6 parts of a plant. Better yet explorers will have a chance to eat straight from the garden! Multi-colored tomatoes, purple carrots, and even spicy edible flowers wait to be discovered and eaten up! Visitors can observe the animals that live on the farm and share vegetables from the garden with Cloudview’s pig, Susanna.

Spring on the farm is a special time filled with new life. In addition to lots of baby plants, there are also baby lambs, piglets, bunnies, and a few other creepy creatures that live and work on the farm. Fall is enchanted in its own way and offers tall corn forests and pumpkin patches to explore.

The field trip costs $1 per child for the first 26 children and $3 per child for every additional child. Scholarships are available.

Spring tours are offered from late April through mid-June.
Fall tours from September through mid-November.

Field trips are available M-F during these suggested times: Morning from 10:30am-12pm
Afternoon from 1-2:30pm These times are only a suggestion. We will accommodate other schedules upon request.

FALL FESTIVAL 2013

Cloudview Farm in Ephrata will host its 2nd annual community open house on the 1st Saturday in October. This event is free of charge and includes music, refreshments, family activities and more. U-Pick pumpkins and pop-corn will be available for purchase.

What To Expect While At Cloudview

Just like life on the farm, tours take place RAIN AND SHINE! Come prepared for any weather and expect to get dirty! We recommend play clothes and mud boots. Leave your new sneakers and nice white shirts at home.

Please remember that you will be visiting a working farm. If you have severe allergies to grass, hay, or bees please come prepared.

PARKING: We have a grass lot directly to your left at the 2nd entrance to the farm when you are traveling North on Frey Road. The farmers will meet you there!

Picnicking before or after your tour? Please do! We have picnic tables and lawn for snacking or picnicking. Stewardship is important to us so we encourage you to bring lunches in reusable containers when possible. Recycling bins will be provided for glass and paper waste. We ask groups to take their non-recyclable waste with them when they go.

Tours run best when there is one adult for every 5 children. Adults are encouraged to help harvest and taste!
